Saved By The Bell

By now it’s no surprise to hear that the 70’s are back and here to stay for at least another season. I’d normally consider myself to be more of a 60’s girl, but have recently found myself drawn to the styles of the later decade. The loose, luxe tailoring and flared trouser silhouette have sucked me in big time and I’m just embracing it.

One of my FAVOURITE trends (yup, capitals are on so you know I’m excited) is the bell sleeve. There’s something very glam, yet wearable about a full sleeve that I love. It adds interest and a high fashion edge to even the simplest of outfits. I picked this bad boy up in the Zara sale for a mere €18 and I am mad about it! The V neck and lace up details on the side are just awesome and it’s great to dress up with a pencil skirt and heels or down with jeans and Birkenstock style sandals like I’m doing here.

Here’s my top 5 bell sleeve pieces that you can shop here:

Topshop €57 (I recently bought this top as well and it’s beautiful!)

  • I’m just after coming across your blog! I love the name, recently I have been reunited with my bob haircut so I appreciate this!

Love the look. I’m all about the bell-sleeve. I think it suits me best when the sleeves are 3/4 long, I find the cut balances out the proportions to my shape as I’m quite (extremely) short. It makes me feel all goddessy-and carefree. I adore it.

Thanks so much for your comment Catherine. Always happy to come across more fans of the bob haircut! Glad you’re pro-bell sleeves too! I’ve seen a few dresses with 3/4 length bell sleeves and they’re fab. It’s great that the trend is adaptable to so many shapes and sizes! Can’t wait to wear more of this look!
